Did you book a Volotea flight to Agadir or Marrakech for early November, an easyJet Basel-Tangier flight in January, or are you flying from Tétouan this winter? Several airlines have changed their Morocco schedules for winter 2026-2027. Here are the changes known on 29 October 2026, what EU rules say about your rights, and your fallback options, luggage included.
Short answer
Volotea drops Strasbourg-Agadir for the winter and pushes six Agadir and Marrakech routes back to 19 December; its Lyon-Marrakech flights from 25 October to 16 December are cancelled. easyJet pauses Basel-Mulhouse-Tangier from 20 January to 11 February 2027 and London Southend-Marrakech from 10 January to 8 February. In Tétouan, Ryanair's online schedule shows flights again this winter. If your flight from the EU is cancelled, you can choose between a refund and re-routing.
Volotea: one route dropped, six pushed back to 19 December
According to Bladi (22 October 2026), based on the airline's filed schedules as reported by AeroRoutes on 18 October, Volotea has reworked its Morocco winter:
- Strasbourg-Agadir is removed from the winter 2026-2027 schedule.
- Moved to 19 December 2026: Bordeaux-Agadir and Bordeaux-Marrakech (planned for 3 November), Lille-Marrakech (3 November), Lille-Agadir, Nantes-Agadir and Strasbourg-Marrakech (7 November).
- Lyon-Marrakech: flights scheduled from 25 October to 16 December are cancelled.
- Bordeaux-Marrakech drops from two to one flight a week from 7 January 2027.
- Nantes-Marrakech falls from 45 to 30 flights over the season.
These figures come from filed schedules and may change again. If you are affected, the airline should contact you; also check your booking in your account.
easyJet: two pauses in midwinter
easyJet is not closing these routes: they are temporary suspensions, according to Bladi (29 August 2026), also citing AeroRoutes.
- Basel-Mulhouse-Tangier: no flights from 20 January to 11 February 2027.
- London Southend-Marrakech: no flights from 10 January to 8 February 2027.
Both routes are due to resume after those dates. For the rest of this winter's new routes, see our article on new flights to Morocco this winter.
Tétouan: what Ryanair's schedule shows
In July, Le360 and Bladi reported that no Ryanair flight was on sale from Tétouan after the end of October. Ryanair neither confirmed nor denied it at the time, saying the rest of its winter schedule would be set in the following months. In its 6 August 2026 press release, the airline listed Tétouan among the Moroccan airports served this winter.
On 29 October 2026, Ryanair's online schedule showed flights from Tétouan to Madrid, Málaga, Alicante, Brussels-Charleroi and Marrakech, through March 2027. Marseille was not listed. Days and times vary from month to month: check your date on ryanair.com before booking.
Cancelled flight: your rights when departing from Europe
For a flight leaving an airport in the European Union, whatever the airline, or arriving in the EU on a European airline, the EU regulation applies. In short:
- Refund or re-routing: you choose between a refund of your ticket and another flight to your destination, as soon as possible or at a later date that suits you.
- Care: if you are waiting at the airport, meals, refreshments and, if needed, a hotel.
- Fixed compensation (250, 400 or 600 euros depending on distance): only if you were told less than 14 days before departure, and not in extraordinary circumstances. A change announced weeks ahead therefore does not usually qualify.
Details are on the official European Union page on air passenger rights. For a departure from the United Kingdom, such as Southend, UK rules apply: check with the airline.
Fallback options
For Tétouan, fly into Tangier
If your route to Tétouan does not exist, Tangier Ibn Battouta airport is the natural alternative: allow about 75 km and an hour by road to Tétouan. Grands taxis and CTM coaches link the two cities. Our guide to a layover at Tangier airport covers arrival, and our guide to visiting Tétouan covers the rest of the trip.
For Agadir and Marrakech, compare dates
If your Volotea flight has moved to 19 December, see whether re-routing on another date suits you better than a refund. Other airlines fly to Agadir and Marrakech from France this winter: compare arrival times, as they can change how you plan your first and last day.
What about your luggage if the schedule changes?
A moved flight often means arriving too early for hotel check-in, or leaving late in the evening after check-out. BoxSpot has three points in Tangier, including RS Valises Gran Teatro Cervantes, open 11am to 11pm, 3 minutes' walk from the Grand Socco, and Anabelle Para Plaza de Toros, open 3pm to 10pm, about 1 km from Tanger-Ville station. There are also two points in Marrakech, in the medina. However, BoxSpot has no point in Tétouan or Agadir: for those cities, check the explorer before you travel.
How it works: you show your booking, the partner scans the QR code and photographs your bags with the drop-off time. They are only returned against the same QR code.
Example: last day in Tangier before an evening flight
You leave your hotel at 11am and your flight from Tangier departs at 8pm. You drop your suitcase at around 11:15am at the Grand Socco point and collect it at around 5:15pm before heading to the airport: 6 hours, or 54 MAD for one bag. Beyond 7 hours, an hourly booking is capped at 59 MAD for the first bag for the day; each following day is 39 MAD. An extra bag costs 49 MAD on day one.
Schedule changed? Keep your hands free in Tangier
Three BoxSpot points in Tangier, one of them 3 minutes from the Grand Socco. 9 MAD per hour per bag, 4-hour minimum (36 MAD), card payment online.
