Staying in Taghazout, flying out of Agadir: what to do with your bags on the last day

The last day of a surf trip looks the same all over Taghazout. Dawn session, breakfast, and then a polite request for the room back around ten or eleven. The flight, meanwhile, leaves Al Massira in the evening. In between: six to eight hours, two bags, a wetsuit that is still wet, and 19 kilometres of coast road to come down. Short answer Come down to Agadir late morning and leave your bags at a BoxSpot partner point in the centre — around 950 m from the beach, 800 m from the CTM coach station, and on the way to the airport. 9 MAD an hour per bag, 59 MAD a day maximum. Collect late afternoon and you are at Al Massira in about thirty minutes. Why staying up in Taghazout until evening rarely works Many camps will hold your bags after check-out, and if yours does, use it for the morning. The trouble comes later: at some point you have to go back up for them, then come down to Agadir again, then cover another thirty kilometres to the airport. At peak hours the coast road fills up and a grand taxi only leaves when it is full. Coming down once, with the bags, and leaving them at the bottom breaks that loop. You never go back up, and the end of the day runs along a single line: central Agadir, then the airport. Getting from Taghazout down to Agadir Distance — roughly 20 km from Taghazout, slightly less from Tamraght or Aourir. Allow 30 to 40 minutes depending on traffic. Grand taxi — the simplest option with luggage. Agree the fare before getting in, and expect to pay for an extra seat if you fill the boot. Coast buses — city lines run up to Aourir, Tamraght and Taghazout. Cheap, but not ideal with a board bag at rush hour. Camp shuttle — if your stay includes an airport transfer, ask to be dropped in town rather than at the terminal. Same trip, one extra day of holiday. You book online, see the exact address and price before paying, and at drop-off the shopkeeper scans a QR code and takes a timestamped photo. Release only unlocks with that QR code. From the point: the beach about 950 metres away, the CTM coach station 800 metres, Souk El Had 1.5 km (closed Mondays), the marina at the far end of the promenade. What about the board? Let us be precise, because this is the real surfer question: you choose the number of bags when booking, but a board bag is not a standard item. Available space depends on the point and the day. Two clean options: Flag it before booking through the site chat, and we confirm whether the point can take a board bag that day. Or leave the board at the camp for the day — most camps happily store boards, it is their trade — and come down to Agadir with the bags only. If you are on a rental board, hand it back in the morning and the question disappears. What to do with those hours in Agadir Agadir beach, ten kilometres of sheltered sand — a proper swim without a current after a week of shore break. Grilled fish by the fishing port, still the best cheap lunch in town. The Agadir Oufella kasbah by cable car, for the view over the bay and the whole coast you have just surfed. Souk El Had for argan oil and spices to take home — closed on Mondays. A hammam before twelve hours of flying: nothing works better after a week in salt water. Hour by hour 7:00 - 10:00 — last session, shower, camp check-out. 11:00 — down to Agadir with the bags. 12:00 — drop-off in the centre, five minutes at the counter. 12:00 to 17:30 — beach, lunch, kasbah, souk. 17:30 — collect. The point closes in the early evening, earlier on Saturday, and not at all on Sunday — check the hours shown before payment. 18:00 — road to Al Massira, about 30 minutes, for a 20:30 departure. The same pattern works on arrival: you land in the morning, the camp only takes you in the early afternoon, so you leave the bags in town and head up light.
