Embassy, consulate or ministry appointment in Rabat: where to leave your bag for the day

Rabat is the administrative capital, and a good share of the people arriving in the morning are not tourists. A file to submit, a summons, a consular appointment, an exam, a signature to collect: you take the 6am train from Casablanca, Kénitra or Fes, you are due at 10, and you head home in the evening. The journey is not the problem. The bag is. Ministries, embassies, consulates, application centres: you go in through a security check, and nothing is set up for a travel bag. Drop-off takes five minutes: the agent scans your QR code and takes a timestamped photo. Release only unlocks with that same QR. Air-conditioned room, CCTV, someone at the counter all day. A typical day, hour by hour 7:45 — arrive at Rabat-Ville, petit taxi. 8:05 — bag dropped, five minutes at the counter. 8:30 — you are outside the building, early, with nothing to watch over. 13:00 — lunch, possibly a second desk in the afternoon. 17:30 — back to collect the bag. 18:00 — Rabat-Ville, train home.
