Key Takeaways
- Bouskoura forest covers about 3,000 hectares of acacia, Aleppo pine and eucalyptus, with laid-out areas (playgrounds, a walking and cycling circuit).
- The BoxSpot point (café near the Al-Haq mosque) is open every day from 7am to 11pm, about 3 km as the crow flies from the first woods and 1.2 km from Bouskoura station.
- Mohammed V airport is about 12.5 km from the café as the crow flies; with the high-speed line works in Casablanca, check your train on oncf-voyages.ma and keep a margin.
- 9 MAD per hour per bag, 4-hour minimum (36 MAD), never more than 59 MAD for the day for the first bag.
Your flight leaves Mohammed V airport in the evening, you checked out of the hotel at noon and you have a few hours left. Rather than spending them in a hall with a suitcase, you can end the trip among trees: Bouskoura forest lies on the way to the airport, between Casablanca and Nouaceur. The only problem is the luggage. Here is how to plan that last half-day, with real distances and realistic timing.
Short answer
Leave your bags at the café near the Al-Haq mosque in Bouskoura, the town's BoxSpot point, open every day from 7am to 11pm. It is about 3 km as the crow flies from the first woods of the forest, about 1.2 km from Bouskoura station and about 12.5 km as the crow flies from Mohammed V airport. Price: 9 MAD per hour per bag (4-hour minimum, so 36 MAD), and never more than 59 MAD for the day for the first bag.
Bouskoura forest in a nutshell
It is the large wooded area south of Casablanca, about fifteen kilometres from the city centre. According to Casa Bus, it covers about 2,992 hectares, planted mainly with acacia, Aleppo pine and eucalyptus. Part of it is laid out in sectors, with playgrounds, a walking and cycling circuit, shelters, toilets, a restaurant and an observation tower. At weekends Casablanca families come in large numbers; on weekdays it is usually quieter.
Two words of caution. In late 2024, Morocco's National Agency for Water and Forests (ANEF) announced an emergency programme for the forest covering 2025 and 2026 (removing dying trees, replanting), warning that some areas could be closed during the work for safety reasons. And we found no official opening hours: walk in daylight, stay on busy paths and ask on site.
Where the forest, the café and the airport are
We calculated straight-line distances from the coordinates of each place. By road they are inevitably longer.
- Café near the Al-Haq mosque (the drop-off point): in Bouskoura, about 1.2 km west of Bouskoura ONCF station.
- The forest: it stretches east and north-east of the town. The first woods are about 3 km from the café as the crow flies. By bus, Casa Bus lists line L309 to get there.
- Mohammed V airport: about 12.5 km as the crow flies from the café, to the south-east.
To get from the café to the forest, a taxi is simplest: show the driver the forest entrance on your map. To find the café itself, follow the directions shown in your booking rather than an approximate address.
Getting to Bouskoura on your last day
From Casablanca you have two options. The first is the train: according to ONDA, the airport rail link serves Casa-Port, Casa-Voyageurs, L'Oasis and Bouskoura, among others. So you can get off at Bouskoura with your bags, then reach the café (about 1.2 km) on foot or by taxi. The second option is a car or taxi straight to the café.
Watch out for the high-speed line works in Casablanca: ONCF announced a new transport plan from 14 September 2026, with changed timetables, adjusted services and the progressive closure of some stations, including Facultés and Ennassim. Check your train on oncf-voyages.ma or in the ONCF app just before leaving, and do not count on a stop you have not confirmed.
At the counter
Show your booking. The café staff scan your QR code and photograph your bags, with the drop-off time. When you come back, you show the same QR code: bags are only returned against that code. Since the café opens at 7am and closes at 11pm every day, it also works for early-morning or late-evening flights.
A timed half-day for an 8pm flight
- 10:30: drop your bags at the café near the Al-Haq mosque. Keep your passport, boarding pass, medicines and a bottle of water with you.
- 11:00: taxi to the forest entrance, then two hours of walking in the shade of eucalyptus and pines. The laid-out paths are more than enough for a relaxed stroll.
- 13:30: back into town for an unhurried lunch in a Bouskoura café or restaurant.
- 15:45: collect your bags with your QR code.
- 16:00: leave for the airport, by taxi or by train from Bouskoura station. You reach the terminal well before check-in.
Airlines often ask you to arrive 2 to 3 hours before an international flight: follow your airline's advice, and add a margin at rush hour, when the road to Nouaceur gets busy. If you prefer a more urban end to your stay, our guide hammam and spa on your last day suggests another way to spend those hours.
What about Bouskoura itself?
Let's be honest: Bouskoura is not a museum town. It is a residential municipality of Greater Casablanca, with its cafés, a golf course and, not far away, the Aéropole and Casanearshore business parks. Its appeal for a traveller is its position: the forest on one side, the airport on the other, and Casablanca within train reach. Only have a layover of a few hours? Our guide to a layover at Mohammed V airport explains what is realistic.
How much it costs
In the plan above, the drop-off runs from 10:30 to 15:45, just over 5 hours: book 6 hours, which is 54 MAD for one bag. If two of you travel with two suitcases and leave them all day, count 59 MAD for the first and 49 MAD for the second, so 108 MAD.
| Duration | Price for 1 bag |
|---|---|
| 4 hours (minimum) | 36 MAD |
| 6 hours | 54 MAD |
| 7 hours or more (full day) | 59 MAD |
| 2 days | 98 MAD |
| Extra bag, by the day | 49 MAD on day one, then 39 MAD a day |
Payment is online, in dirhams, by card. Leaving from another city? Every BoxSpot point in Morocco is on the luggage storage explorer, and the Bouskoura luggage storage page shows the point on the map.
