In practice, the aircraft turns straight around. There is no day trip by plane: a stay in Essaouira runs from Sunday to Wednesday, or from Wednesday to Sunday. Essaouira-Mogador airport is about 15 km from the medina.

Airport side: the Bouskoura point
The Café Mosquée Al-Haq point in Bouskoura is open every day from 7am to 11pm. It is about 1.2 km from Bouskoura station and about 12.5 km in a straight line from the airport. According to ONDA, trains from Mohammed V airport run without a change to Bouskoura, L'Oasis, Casa-Voyageurs and Casa-Port; times and tickets on oncf-voyages.ma.
It is the most practical point for leaving a big suitcase for the length of your stay. Drop it on Wednesday before the 4pm flight and collect it on Sunday after the announced 11:40am arrival, with no rush since the point closes at 11pm. For the 8:20am Sunday flight, dropping off that morning is too tight with a 7am opening: drop off the day before.
City side: near Casa-Voyageurs
Troplo Coffee Casa Voyageurs, in the Chadia/La Villette district, is about 17 minutes' walk from Casa-Voyageurs station. It opens Monday to Friday 7am to 10pm, Saturday 7am to 7pm and Sunday 10am to 6pm. On the two flight days, that means Wednesday 7am to 10pm and Sunday 10am to 6pm.
It is handy for spending Wednesday morning in town before the afternoon flight, or for enjoying Sunday afternoon after your return from Essaouira. Note: on Sunday, pick-up is at 6pm at the latest. All options are on the Casablanca luggage storage page.

Sunday afternoon in town after your return
Announced arrival at 11:40am, train to Casa-Voyageurs, drop-off at Troplo Coffee around 1pm and pick-up at 6pm, Sunday closing time: 5 hours, so 45 MAD.

If you leave a bag in Bouskoura from Wednesday to Sunday, count 59 MAD for the first day, then 39 MAD for each following day: 4 days is 176 MAD, 5 days 215 MAD. The number of days depends on your drop-off and pick-up times and is shown before payment.
