Half a day or a long layover in Casablanca: the Hassan II Mosque from the ocean, the Aïn Diab Corniche and Morocco Mall, with the right tram from Casa-Voyageurs, a realistic itinerary and your bags left near the station.
Key Takeaways
No tram runs directly from Casa-Voyageurs to Aïn Diab: take T1, change at Abdelmoumen (Anoual) to T2, and ride to the Aïn Diab Plage terminus.
A petit taxi is easier for combining the Hassan II Mosque, the Corniche and Morocco Mall in half a day.
Allow at least 5 to 6 hours in town; leave your bags at Troplo Coffee, about 1.2 km from Casa-Voyageurs.
Six hours of storage cost 54 MAD for one bag, a full day 59 MAD; on Sundays the point closes at 6pm.
Five hours between two trains, or a whole day before an evening flight: in Casablanca that is enough to see the ocean. The Aïn Diab Corniche with its beaches and seafront cafés, the outline of the Hassan II Mosque above the waves, Morocco Mall at the end of the promenade. It all works well, as long as you are not dragging a suitcase along the seafront. Here is the plan, with the actual tram route from Casa-Voyageurs.
Short answerLeave your bags at Troplo Coffee, about 1.2 km from Casa-Voyageurs (roughly a 17-minute walk). For Aïn Diab, take tram T1 towards Lissasfa, change at Abdelmoumen to T2 (Anoual stop) towards Aïn Diab, and ride to the Aïn Diab Plage terminus. Easier for half a day: a petit taxi, which lets you stop at the Hassan II Mosque. Allow at least 5 to 6 hours. Six hours of storage cost 54 MAD for one bag, a full day 59 MAD.
What people mean by "the Corniche"
Casablanca's coastline reads from east to west. It starts at the Hassan II Mosque, built right on the ocean. The Boulevard de la Corniche then heads west, passes the El Hank lighthouse (about 2 km from the mosque as the crow flies) and reaches Aïn Diab, the beach district, about 5 km from the mosque as the crow flies. Morocco Mall lies further on, about 2.7 km as the crow flies from the Aïn Diab Plage tram terminus.
As you follow the coast towards Aïn Diab, look back: the mosque's minaret stands out above the bay. That is the view in the photo at the top of this article, and it needs neither a ticket nor a time slot.
Casa-Voyageurs to Aïn Diab by tram: the real route
Many older maps still show T1 running to Aïn Diab. That is no longer the case: today the Aïn Diab branch is served by line T2. So the journey has two legs.
At Casa-Voyageurs, take T1 towards Lissasfa. From Troplo Coffee, the Anciens Abattoirs T1 stop is about 500 m away as the crow flies, so you do not need to go back to the station.Get off at Abdelmoumen, around ten stops later, and walk to the Anoual T2 stop, which forms the interchange.Take T2 towards Aïn Diab to the Aïn Diab Plage terminus, by the ocean.
Allow a good hour including the change (this is an estimate: check journey times on the Casatramway website). Buy your ticket from the machine before boarding. The tram is cheap and predictable; a petit taxi (red in Casablanca, metered) is quicker outside rush hour and lets you stop at the mosque on the way.
A realistic itinerary for a 6-hour layover
A weekday example: your train reaches Casa-Voyageurs at 10am and you leave again at 5pm.

Drop-off at 10:20, pick-up at 4pm: book 6 hours, so 54 MAD for one bag. Taxi times are estimates: at rush hour traffic can double them. Keep your margin for the end of the day, where missing a train costs the most.
Want to go inside the mosque? The interior can only be seen on guided tours at set times. It is all explained in our article on visiting the Hassan II Mosque during a layover with luggage: in that case, save the Corniche for the afternoon.
The long version: 8 to 10 hours
With a whole day, slow down. Take the tram out to watch the city go by, walk part of the Corniche, spend the afternoon at Morocco Mall or on a terrace, then come back by petit taxi. Beyond 7 hours the booking is capped: a full day costs 59 MAD for one bag, and 108 MAD for two (59 + 49).
Arriving by plane? Trains from Mohammed V airport serve Casa-Voyageurs: check timetables on the ONCF website and leave plenty of margin for security on the way back. Our article on a layover at Mohammed V airport covers that case in detail.
Drop-off point hours, and the Sunday trap
Troplo Coffee is open 7am to 10pm Monday to Friday, 7am to 7pm on Saturday and 10am to 6pm on Sunday. On Sundays you cannot drop off before 10am and must collect your bags before 6pm: a late afternoon on the Corniche that day happens with your bags, or not at all. On weekdays the 10pm closing leaves time for dinner by the sea before an evening train.
On site, the café staff scan your booking's QR code and photograph your bags with the drop-off time. They are only handed back against the same QR code. Book on the Troplo Coffee Casa-Voyageurs storage page.
